Spectral Agony is a skill, not a hex, condition , or enchantment, and it still shows up as an icon, but you can call it.

But... at present you CAN call out "I have Tar on me!" and "I have Domain of Slow on me!" and "I have Icy Ground on me!" No one can do anything about it... yet the COMMUNICATION possibility is there, to call it out.

It is not a huge deal, I agree. It doesn't happen very often. Which is why I don't think it's the huge spam-magnet some folks are making it out to be.

I also agree it is not high on the priority list, but at the same time, (ignorant non-programmer speaking) I don't think a lot of effort would have to go into it to implement.

Didn't expect there to be such huge opposition to what would be a very small yet occasionally very useful change, though.

As for it somehow causing your teammates to "hang back" - no. I don't think it would do that at all. If you are in the middle of battle, which you would be if someone got close enough to use Blackout in the first place, I don't think it would be time enough to completely change strategy to compensate.

ALL it is, is a way to quickly let your teammates know that you won't be doing a damn thing for 5 seconds.

same with troll unguent. However, I see blackout as more of a skill that causes the enemies skills to recharge, not as affect that is on that person. I'd rather have it the way it is right now

But yea... it would be nice to call it, among other things. However, I agree that Blackout is supposed to have an element of surprise, and thus was probably not made callable for a reason. Maybe create your own heads-up in Team Chat? I do that, sometimes, for more complex messages than 'I'm about to die!!' (IE 'I'll keep the caster down')

Whisper to a fake or offline player: "I am Blacked Out!"
Send.
Switch to the teamchat channel.

Then, when it happens, enter->up->enter.
-shrug-
Haaaaave a nice evening.

diversion and distracting shot only deal with 1 skill blackout deals with all 8 skills all 8 a party member can use to aid youre team in combat make blackout callable!

the icons at the top are only for things that can be removed and things you put on yourself (as well as world enchantments).
You can't do anything about blackout anyway, why make it an icon? Besides, there is no coding that says it is a condition. It adds 5 seconds of recharge to all your spells, it doesn't set them to 5. There is no way to code blackout as a callable icon.

Power Block and Distracting Shot are interrupts. Diversion you can call out if you have time before you do your next skill.

Seriously, stop writing off RA like it's the ugly stepchild of GW. (I thought that was lower-level arenas. ) It's a vital part of the game, both for those who have limited time to play, and for those just learning the mechanics of PvP.

One thing about RA (and I do spend some time in there, such as a few minutes before work in the morning), is that you want to avoid as much abuse, from the other team as well as your own team, as possible. Monking is hard enough as it is without some asshat warrior wondering why you are not healing him or removing his Empathy that he is able to call out while you are helpless and skill-less blacked out.

You don't have to call it if you don't want to, you know.

I will take the point that it's a skill reset, not a condition. However, I stand by the suggestion as a valid one which does not disrupt the balance of the game/match/whatever, but as one which can prevent headaches for those involved when and if the situation arises, on an interpersonal level.

I agree that you could easily call it out on Vent but what the hell is with you people that say /notsigned?!

Adding this won't hurt anyone so what's the harm? It seems like some of you just get some perverse pleasure in denying useful features for other players just because you wont have a use for it.

Remember that Power Block also disables all spells in the same attribute line of the interrupted spell. So it's a similar (or exactly the same if all your spells are in the same line) effect to Blackout and it lasts longer.

Calling out that your skills are recharging is a better solution than "I am Blacked Out" or "I have been Power Blocked!".

Power Block disables all spells of the same atribute as the interrupted one... what can not be called.

Diversion may be called whilst being active, but the hardest problem may be a disable skill, what can not be called.

Being under Choking Gas you may be unable to cast a single spell, what can not be called.

I think that you may write a short message in the chat, like: "black out", "diversion", "all disable", "choking gas", ... or try start using: BO, D, AD, CG, ...

And with respect a feature to call "Black Out"... I suggest something else, a feature to call a skill of the skill bar and its relevant state. For example:

"All my protection skills are disable"

I think that there is still the problem of how to inform of being under Choking Gas.

I think I could get behind this suggestion.

This would also incorporate the thread a long time ago (which I /signed) which requested some sort of call about having used up Res Sig. Again, very handy.
